Agnes C. Gundersen is the CEO of Møreforsking and holds a Dr. Scient degree from the University of Bergen. She has completed several leadership development programs, and her academic background spans fisheries biology, catch and gear technology, aquaculture, fisheries management, ecosystem studies, and sustainable resource use.
Agnes joined Møreforsking in 1993 and has held roles both as researcher and leader. She was evaluated as Principal Researcher in 2008. In 2018, she assumed the role of CEO and has since led the organization through a comprehensive restructuring process in which the subsidiaries were merged into the parent company in 2020, followed by a targeted strengthening of the company's professional profile in subsequent years.
She has extensive board experience and has supervised PhD candidates, served as an opponent at several universities, chaired evaluation committees for competence promotion, reviewed scientific publications, and worked as an editor. Since 1994, she has also contributed to expert groups within ICES.
